A few days ago, Redmi announced that it is going to launch a new smartphone named Redmi 12 in the Indian market very soon. And today (10th July) the company has officially announced the launch date of their upcoming handset in India. Redmi India has confirmed through their official Twitter handle that the Redmi 12 smartphone will be launched in India on August 1.
The company has also revealed the arrival time of this latest smartphone model as well as the design. After all, the recently released teaser poster clearly indicates that all the features of the Indian variant of the Redmi 12 smartphone will be similar to the version that has already debuted in the international market. Redmi 12 smartphone specifications
Redmi 12 will arrive in India with a 6.79-inch Full HD Plus IPS LCD display panel. This display will support 550 nits peak brightness and 90 Hz refresh rate. The device will have a MediaTek Helio G88 processor for performance. The handset will be available with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. As an operating system, the Redmi 12 phone will have Android 13 based MIUI 14 custom skin pre-loaded. And for security, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner is embedded in the power button itself.
In terms of the camera department, the rear panel of the Redmi 12 features a triple camera setup with a 50-megapixel primary sensor, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens and a 2-megapixel macro sensor. An 8-megapixel selfie camera will be available on the front of the device. Also, talking about other features, this device will come with a 3.5mm headphone jack. It will be IP53 rated certified for water and dust resistance. Finally, for power backup, the Redmi 12 smartphone can use a 5,000mAh capacity battery with 33W fast charging support.
