Oppo gave good news to fans, not stopping the production of foldable phones

There is a saying in Bengali, where there is smoke there is fire. In other words, if there is a rumor, there is a possibility that it will be true to some extent. However, this is not true in all aspects. In fact, there have been whispers that some Chinese brands may stop making foldable smartphones as early as 2024. The name of Oppo was also included in this list. It was reported that the company was going to take such a decision as it had to bear more cost to repair the devices. But recently Oppo issued an official notice confirming that – this news is completely false, nothing but rumours. They will continue to launch foldable handsets.

Oppo is not moving away from the foldable smartphone market

In this regard, a spokesperson of the Oppo company commented – “Oppo’s commitment to continuously develop foldable smartphones remains unchanged. Please wait for our official updates to stay informed about upcoming product announcements.”

In this case, it is expected that very soon the company is going to launch a bunch of new foldable smartphones in the global market including India. The upcoming devices could be – Oppo Find N4, N4 Flip, and OnePlus Open 2.

Last year, OnePlus under BBK Electronics launched OnePlus Open as their first foldable phone. The device – debuted with the said name in the US, Europe and India. However, the phone was released under the same name and brand in other regional markets including China. That is, the owner company announced the rebranded version of the OnePlus Open model with the name Oppo Find N3 under its another sub-brand Oppo. Also announced in 2023 is the Oppo Find N3 Flip, a vertically foldable phone.

Incidentally, Oppo Find X7 and Find X7 Ultra smartphones were unveiled in China at the beginning of 2024. It is believed that the brand is planning to announce a new variant of the Find X7 Ultra model with two-way satellite connectivity in China next month. Along with the said model, Oppo may also announce the Oppo K12 and Reno 12 series powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset in their home market. Besides, the company has recently confirmed that the Oppo F25 Pro 5G will be released in India on February 29.
