OnePlus 13 is the next flagship smartphone from OnePlus. Being the company's most premium handset, this phone is expected to see upgrades in multiple departments. But now it is heard that this upcoming phone from OnePlus may not have wireless charging support.
OnePlus basically brings their number of flagship smartphones to the market towards the end of the year. The OnePlus 12 phone was initially launched in December last year. Currently the company is working on the next generation OnePlus 13 handset. However, various speculations have already started around the phone. And now a tipster has revealed that while the OnePlus 13 phone's performance will improve with the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chip, it might see a downgrade in the charging department. The OnePlus 13 phone may not feature wireless charging support
Tipster Digital Chat Station revealed in a recent Weibo (Chinese microblogging platform) post that the OnePlus 13 phone will feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 processor, a 6,000 mAh battery and 100W wired charging support. Incidentally, its predecessor OnePlus 12 had a 5,000 mAh battery. So even though the battery capacity will increase a lot, the wired charging speed will remain the same. However, the tipster indicated that the OnePlus 13 may not support wireless charging.
NotebookCheck noted in a report that the company claims the current generation OnePlus 12 mobile phone as the “fastest wireless charging” flagship Android smartphone on Amazon's platform. However, the absence of this feature in the upcoming OnePlus 13 handset is likely to disappoint users.
However, the tipster did not specify why OnePlus might drop the wireless charging feature. However, this could be due to the larger 6,000 mAh battery, which will increase the phone's weight and take up more space inside the phone. This will likely make it difficult for the OnePlus 13 to fit the magnetic coil required for wireless charging. However, this isn't the first OnePlus flagship device to feature wireless charging. The company has taken the same decision with the OnePlus 11 model and the trend may continue with their 2025 flagship.
Notably, Digital Chat Station had earlier revealed that the OnePlus 13 phone will sport a 6.8-inch 2K LTPO display with a micro-curved design and will offer an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner for security. OnePlus 13 is expected to launch in November or December. It will be one of the first phones to feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset.
