Ending long speculations, Nothing has finally launched their third and first budget-friendly smartphone. The new mid-range phone is called the Nothing Phone (2a). It is slightly different from the company’s flagship models, especially in terms of design. However, despite the low price, the Nothing Phone (2a) offers some premium core specifications. It has an OLED display, MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Pro processor, dual camera setup with a 50-megapixel primary camera and a large 5,000 mAh battery. The Nothing Phone (2A) comes in white and black colors. Its base 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant is priced at Tk 23,999 in the Indian market. The mid-tier 8GB RAM + 256GB storage model can be purchased for Rs 25,999. And the higher 12 GB RAM + 256 GB storage is priced at Tk 27,999. The Nothing Phone (2A) is a compact device with a boxy form factor. It retains the brand’s transparent design, which allows internal components such as screws and rubber wires to be seen through. The rear panel of the device houses two horizontal cameras within a circular island. It is surrounded by three glyph LED strips. The phone offers an IP54-certified dust and water-resistant chassis.
The Nothing Phone (2a) features a 6.7-inch flat OLED display on the front, offering FullHD+ resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, 1,300 nits peak brightness and HDR10. The screen is surrounded by slim bezels and has a centered punch-hole cutout at the top for the selfie camera. An in-display fingerprint scanner is also embedded in the display for security.
For photography, the Nothing Phone (2a) houses a dual rear camera setup comprising of a 50-megapixel primary sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS) enabled and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens. And there is a 32 megapixel selfie camera in front of the phone. Nothing Phone (2a) has multiple photography features like UltraXDR, Motion Capture, Night Mode, Action Mode and Portrait Optimizer, which will help improve the quality of photography.
For performance, the Nothing Phone (2a) uses the MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Pro processor. The chip is paired with a maximum of 12GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage. In terms of power backup, the smartphone has a 5,000mAh battery unit with 45W fast charging support. The device runs on Nothing OS 2.5 custom skin based on Android 14. The company has confirmed that the Nothing Phone (2a) will receive three years of OS updates and four years of security patches. Nothing This new phone supports connectivity options like WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, Dual 5G and Near Field Communication (NFC).
