Carl Pei, CEO of the Nothing brand in Halfil, announced that he is working on a new Quick Settings panel. At the same time, fans were also asked to know what they liked and disliked about the existing NothingOS 2.5 version of Quick Settings and Notification Panel. And now the leader of this London-based tech company has shared a post on the X platform, saying that based on user feedback and prioritizing the needs, the upcoming NothingOS 3.0 software version will bring a completely new design of quick settings and notification panel. Carl Pei has also revealed what will be new in the redesigned panels. This is discussed in detail below…
NothingOS 3.0 Quick Settings Panel: What's New
- The new panel's quick settings tile and background color will match the system theme. Please note that currently Quick Settings tiles are shown with gray color and tiles background with black color. Even if users select a different color system theme, the color theme in the Quick Settings panel does not change.
- The 'Brightness Level Slider' in the upcoming new Quick Settings panel under NothingOS 3.0 version has also been redesigned. As per the image shared by Carl Pei, the brightness slider will be thicker And it's been moved to the bottom of the Quick Settings tiles.
- The pill-shaped tile is noticeable in the existing Quick Settings panel. But the new panels will feature a mix of circular and pill-shaped tile designs. In fact, the brand opted for this new design so that users can add and access more shortcut tiles in the Quick Panel.
- Large square connectivity tiles will be scrapped. Instead, the newly leaked images clearly indicate that separate circular tiles will be available for mobile data and Wi-Fi options.
- The design of the Sound Mode (Mute / Ring / Vibrate) tile in Quick Settings will be changed. The new Quick Settings panel will feature a pill-shaped tile, with options for – Ring, Vibrate and Mute. Users can directly switch from Ring mode to Mute mode with just one tap on this tile. Note, in the existing quick settings panel – one tap to switch from ring mode to vibrate mode and double tap to mute from vibrate mode. Users will get one-tap facility in the new panel.
Nothing Phone May Launch With Alert Slider (3)
The device image used by Carl Pei on the X platform to reveal the design of their upcoming quick settings panel looks nothing like the phones available in the market. The device in the picture is seen with a flat edge design and a centered punch-hole notch. It has the volume rocker on the left side and the power button on the right side. But compared to the latest Nothing Phone (2) model, the volume and power buttons of the device are located higher. The handset shown is believed to be the upcoming Nothing Phone (3). Perhaps Karndhar has adopted this strategy to show a glimpse before the arrival and increase the enthusiasm among the fans.
Meanwhile, we have noticed another new button next to the power button. Analysts speculate, it could be a camera shutter button or an alert slider or an action button However, Bruno Viegas, a former employee of the company, claims that the button is a vibration slider. As a result, the function of the mysterious button cannot be confirmed at this moment. But since fans have been requesting for an alert slider on Nothing phones for a long time, chances are the company is going to fulfill this demand of users with their upcoming handset.
