Nothing Phone 2a: Record 1 lakh sales in one day, Nothing Phone alone rules the market

The company’s first budget-friendly smartphone, the Nothing Phone (2a), was launched in India last week and, as expected, has taken the smartphone market by storm. The company had earlier said that 60,000 units of the phone were sold within the first hour on the first day of sale (March 12). Now the CEO of Nothing confirmed that they managed to sell a total of 1,00,000 units of Nothing Phone (2a) on the opening day of the sale.

Nothing Phone (2a) crossed the 100,000 units mark on its first day of sales

Nothing’s Chief Executive Officer Carl Pei happily announced on social media that its new mid-range smartphone, the Nothing Phone (2A), crossed the milestone of 1,00,000 units on its first day of sale. It has entered the market as an affordable alternative to the flagship Nothing Phone (2) launched last year, but the company has not skimped on the handset’s specifications for the price. The Nothing Phone (2A) features a large 6.7-inch OLED display and a 50-megapixel dual rear camera system, which is also seen in its higher-end models. The rear panel of the phone also retains the company’s signature Glyph interface with LED lights.

Besides, the Nothing Phone (2A)-an attractive feature is Nothing’s custom-made MediaTek Dimension 7200 Pro processor. Although the company claims that it offers 10% more efficiency, in real life its performance will probably be similar to the standard Dimension 7200 or 7200 Ultra. Because all three processors are built on the same 4 nanometer manufacturing process.

Specification of Nothing Phone (2a).

The front of Nothing Phone (2a) has a 6.7-inch OLED display with FullHD+ resolution, 120 Hz refresh rate, 1,300 nits peak brightness, HDR10 support. As mentioned earlier, the phone is powered by MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Pro processor. This chipset is paired with a maximum of 12 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of storage.

In terms of cameras, the Nothing Phone (2a)’s dual camera system on the rear panel includes a 50-megapixel primary camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens. And in front of the phone there is a 32 megapixel front-facing camera. For power backup, the phone uses a 5,000mAh battery with 45W fast charging support. Nothing Phone (2a) runs Nothing OS 2.5 custom skin based on Android 14. The company promises that the device will receive three years of OS updates and four years of security patches.

Talking about the price, Nothing Phone (2a) is available for 329 Euros (approx. Rs. 29,700) in the European market, 319 Pounds Sterling (approx. Rs. 33,700) in the UK and only Rs. 23,999 in India. For US buyers, a developer program is currently offering the phone for $349 (roughly Rs. 29,000).
