HMD Skyline phone prices and software support plans
It is already known that the HMD Skyline phone will feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7S Gen 2 chipset and an OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a Samsung ISOCELL HM2 primary camera sensor. Notably, the handset is said to feature the same design language as the Nokia Lumia 920 phone
And now a post from the X (formerly Twitter) account named HMD Mim's has been shared, revealing that HMD Global is planning three years of Android updates for the HMD Skyline. This means that if the Skyline was launched with Android 14 operating system, it will get an OS update up to Android 17.
Along with this, security patches will also be offered for three years only, meaning no more security updates will be rolled out after the completion of major platform updates. In this regard, the HMD brand's move is different from most smartphone manufacturers. However, it is rumored that a business-focused HMD Skyline Business Edition (BE) model will also hit the market, which according to the tipster will receive five years of security patches. However, buyers will have to pay more to get this extended support, as Business Edition devices are often more expensive than standard models.

Among these, the 8GB RAM and 256GB storage version of the HMD Skyline BE phone is expected to be launched at a price of 520 Euros (approximately Rs. 46,520). According to the tipster, it will be available only in black color.
On the other hand, the standard HMD Skyline edition will come with four color options and 8GB/12GB RAM options. It will also get 256 GB of storage. The 8GB variant of the device will be priced at EUR 459 (approximately Tk 41,060) and the 12GB variant will be priced at EUR 499 (approximately Tk 44,640). The HMD Skyline is said to be launched in mid-July.
