Nokia G42: Price will be lowest, Nokia brings new phone with quad core processor

HMD Global-owned brand Nokia has launched several new smartphones in the US this month, including the rugged handset Nokia XR21. Currently, they are said to be preparing to add a new affordable smartphone to the G-series, called the Nokia G42 5G. It was recently spotted on the Geekbench website, running on Android 13 and a Qualcomm processor. Let’s see what the benchmark listing reveals about the Nokia G42 5G.

The Nokia G42 5G has appeared on the Geekbench platform with various specifications. It will have a quad-core Qualcomm processor with a base frequency of 1.90 GHz. Also, the chip has a fast cluster of two cores, clocked at 2.21 GHz. Although, the exact name of this processor is not known, it is speculated to be a low mid-range chipset.

In terms of benchmark results, the Nokia G42 5G managed to score 738 in the single-core test and 1,718 in the multi-core test. The Geekbench listing also revealed that the smartphone will come with at least 4GB of RAM and will run on Android 13 operating system. Also some earlier reports suggested that the Nokia G42 will also have a 6GB RAM variant with 128GB built-in storage. The screen resolution of the phone can be 1,612×720. This Nokia handset is likely to be available in Purple and Gray color options.

Notably, Nokia recently launched the rugged Nokia XR21 smartphone in the US with MIL-STD 810H military-grade durability, IP68 rated waterproofing and IP69K) dust resistance rating. The device is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 processor and is available with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage.
