Infinix launches stunning 5G smartphone with 108MP camera and 100W charging

Yesterday, March 18, Infinix took the wraps off their much-awaited Note 40 series of smartphones. The latest lineup includes four devices – the standard Note 40 and Note 40 Pro 4G, Note 40 Pro 5G and Note 40 Pro+ 5G. Naturally, the 5G versions offer more premium specifications than the 4G models of the series. Apart from a few minor differences, the Infinix Note 40 Pro 5G and Note Pro+ 5G are almost identical to each other. But the Pro+ is the most premium model in the series. Let’s take a closer look at what the new 5G phones have to offer and their prices.

Infinix Note 40 Pro 5G and Note 40 Pro+ 5G Specifications and Features

Much like the 4G variant, the Infinix Note 40 Pro 5G and Pro Plus 5G feature a 6.78-inch 3D curved AMOLED (AMOLED) display, which offers FullHD+ resolution, 1,300 nits peak brightness and 120Hz refresh rate. Both the phones will get an in-screen fingerprint scanner for security. Besides, the display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass.

Slim profile seen on Infinix Note 40 Pro 5G and Pro Plus 5G. A rectangular camera module is located on the back panel of the handsets. The devices come with Infinix’s exclusive ‘Active Halo’ AI light, which changes based on incoming calls, notifications and other actions. Also for enhanced audio, the smartphones offer stereo speakers with sound by JBL.

For photography, the triple rear camera setup of the Infinix Note 40 Pro 5G and Pro+ 5G features an optical image stabilization (OIS)-enabled 108-megapixel primary camera, a 2-megapixel macro lens and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. Both the phones are capable of recording 2K videos. And the phone houses a 32-megapixel front-facing selfie camera.

In terms of performance, the Infinix Note 40 Pro 5G and 40 Pro+ 5G are powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7020 processor. The Pro model offers 8 GB of RAM and the higher Pro+ variant offers 12 GB of RAM. But both come with 256GB of in-built storage and also include a microSD card slot for additional storage. Both Note 40 Pro models feature the brand’s self-developed Cheetah X1 chipset. Finally for power backup, the Infinix Note 40 Pro+ 5G has a 4,600mAh battery with 100W fast charging support. Meanwhile, the Pro 5G comes with a larger 5,000mAh battery, which supports 45W fast charging speed. Both phones feature 20W wireless charging.

The Infinix Note 40 Pro+ 5G has a starting price of $309 (roughly Rs. 25,625) in the US market. On the other hand, the base model of the Note 40 Pro 5G has been priced at $289 (roughly Rs. 23,970). But the prices of these phones will vary depending on the market. The Infinix Note 40 Pro 5G and Note 40 Pro+ 5G are available in Vintage Green, Obsidian Black and Titan Gold color options. However, it is not yet known when the Infinix phones will be launched in India.
