HTC is bringing five new smartphones, with 50-megapixel cameras and bigger batteries

HTC was once a popular name in the world of Android smartphones. But with the arrival of other brands, the value of the brand started to decline. HTC is finally trying to get back into the spotlight with a new smartphone. At the GITEX 2025 tech expo in Dubai, HTC showcased several new devices from its Wildfire series. Let’s take a look at what is known about these phones so far.

HTC brings new Wildfire smartphone series

Ever since an X-user shared pictures of the HTC Wildfire lineup, the tech community has been buzzing about it. One image shows four models, and here’s a look at the different camera designs for each model. Another image shows a rugged model with reinforced corners, indicating that it is designed for use in outdoor environments and will likely offer protection from water and dust.

But the most interesting device seems to be a budget range “gaming” phone. Its dark red back panel and angular styling give it a clear performance-first identity. According to that user, this model is powered by Unisoc T765 chipset, which is a 6 nanometer octa-core processor. The device is also said to have a 5,6000 mAh battery.

Camera and display

In terms of cameras, the HTC Wildfire series handset will feature a 50-megapixel primary sensor and a 16-megapixel selfie camera. And it is expected to have a 120Hz IPS panel. The company is reportedly planning to officially launch the model by late autumn.

The HTC Wildfire lineup is aimed at emerging markets, much like the revived original Wildfire models from the early 2010s and late 2019s. The upcoming phones are expected to be priced competitively. But we still have to wait for some time to know the exact price.

Having said that, the HTC brand has mainly focused on VR and Metaverse hardware for the past few years, so this seems like a meaningful step back to their roots. It remains to be seen whether HTC can revive its former popularity.
