GSMArena reported that at the Mobile World Congress 2023 event held in Shanghai, Honor Chief Executive Officer (CEO) George Zhao announced that the Honor Magic V2 will be launched in China on July 12. It may come with an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 or the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 5G processor. Also, the bookish-styled Honor Magic model may also sport a 108-megapixel primary rear camera sensor. The phone’s display is expected to be LTPO AMOLED, which is an upgrade over its predecessor’s OLED panel. The screen of this Honor foldable smartphone may have a refresh rate of 90 or more and higher PWM dimming frequency than its predecessor.
In terms of power backup, the Honor Magic V2 is expected to pack a 5,000mAh battery, which can support 66W wired fast charging. According to a leak, the company is also planning to launch the Honor X50 smartphone at the same time. However, nothing has been officially announced by the company in this regard.
At the time of launch, the 12 GB RAM + 256 GB storage variant of the current generation Honor Magic V was priced at 9,999 Yuan (approximately Rs. 1,16,000), while the higher 12 GB RAM + 512 GB storage model was priced at 10, 999 Yuan (roughly Rs. 2,70,610). The phone is available in color options like Black, Burnt Orange and Space Silver.
