Honor's foldable phone Honor Magic V3 has set a world record ahead of its global launch. The screen will be removed from the top of this foldable phone at the upcoming IFA Berlin 2024 event. Before that, in collaboration with Guinness World Record holder Brian Berg, Honor brought forward the design of the phone by placing it on top of the world's tallest house made of playing cards.

It reportedly took Berg a full eight hours to build the structure from cards. Berg built the structure with just card without glue and placed the phone on top of it. Berg also shared his entire video on YouTube, much to everyone's surprise.

Note that the weight of the Honor Magic V3 foldable phone is only 226 grams, which is quite light among foldable phones. The device's closest competitor, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6, weighs 239 grams.

Honor Magic V3 phone is not only light in weight. The company also claims that it will be the world's thinnest foldable device. It will be 9.2mm thick when folded. For comparison's sake, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 is 12.1mm thick when folded.

Specifications and features of Honor Magic V3

We know the specifications of the Honor Magic V3 foldable phone due to its launch in China. It has a 6.43-inch primary display, which comes with a curved design and supports Full HD Plus resolution. The device also features a 7.92-inch cover display, which will offer a resolution of 2344×2156 pixels. Both displays support 120 Hz LTPO refresh rate, Dolby Vision, HDR Vivid. The smartphone comes with a waterproof IPX8 rated build.

Honor Magic V3 features a triple rear camera setup on the back. These cameras are a 50-megapixel primary sensor with OIS, a 40-megapixel ultra-wide lens and a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto lens with 100x digital zoom and OIS. Both the internal and external screens have a 20-megapixel front camera for selfies and video calls.

The phone is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. For power backup, it has a 5150mAh battery, which supports 66W wired and 50W wireless charging.
