Honor today took the wraps off its latest Magic V2 foldable smartphone. It is the world’s slimmest foldable phone to date, measuring just 9.9 millimeters thick. However, the Honor Magic V2 does not compromise on its specifications as it has a lightweight design. This new phone has a large 5,000 mAh battery and the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. Also, the Honor Magic V2 offers an OLED display and a 50-megapixel primary camera. Design of Honor Magic V2

Design and build quality are the main highlights of the Honor Magic V2. The smartphone comes with a premium design with a large rectangular camera module. When folded, the Honor smartphone measures only 9.9 mm, while unfolded it is an impressive 4.7 mm thick. Honor says that the Honor Magic V2 beats the Huawei Mate50 RS in terms of thickness, which is a conventional bar phone.

This foldable phone is not only thin but also light weight. The plain leather version of the device weighs 231 grams, and the glass version only 237 grams. Both these versions are lighter than Apple’s iPhone 14 Pro Max, which weighs 240 grams. Also, Honor has also made sure to make this device durable. It comes with a new hinge technology called the Honor Luban Titanium Hinge. This hinge has passed the Swiss SGS High-Reliability Folding Quality Gold Standard certification, which means it can withstand 4 lakh folds without any problems. Honor Magic V2 also supports multi-angle hovering, which allows the user to use the phone in different positions.

Specifications of Honor Magic V2

Honor Magic V2 has a 6.43-inch OLED outer screen, which supports 2,376×1,060 resolution, 20:9 aspect ratio, 120 Hz refresh rate and 3,840 Hz high-frequency PWM dimming. The panel has passed the TUV Rheinland flicker-free certification and offers a maximum brightness of 2,500 nits. The internal display of the Honor Magic V2 uses a 7.92-inch 2,344×2,157 resolution OLED foldable panel with the same refresh rate and dimming frequency.

For better performance, Honor Magic V2 uses Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. But this is not a regular 3.18 GHz clock speed processor, it is an overclocked version with a frequency of 3.36 GHz. In terms of software, Honor Magic V2 runs MagicOS 7.2 custom skin based on Android 13 OS. Notably, the foldable phone has a self-developed RF enhancement chip and uses wrap-around antenna extension technology, which the company claims improves antenna performance.

In terms of cameras, the Honor Magic V2 features a 16-megapixel camera on the cover screen and another 16-megapixel sensor on the inner foldable display. And the device’s rear camera setup houses a 50-megapixel primary camera, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens and a 20-megapixel telephoto lens with up to 40x zoom support. For power backup, the Honor Magic V2 uses a large 5,000mAh battery with support for 66W fast charging.

The 16GB RAM + 256GB storage variant of the Honor Magic V2 is available for purchase in China for 8,999 Yuan (roughly Rs. 1,03,000). Again, its higher 16GB RAM + 512GB storage and top-end 16GB RAM + 1TB storage models are priced at 9,999 Yuan (approx. Rs. 1,14,500) and 11,999 Yuan (approx. Rs. 1,37,400) respectively. money).
