Google Pixel 8: Google Pixel competes with iPhone, launch date, price, features, know all information

After unveiling the affordable Google Pixel 7a smartphone under its Pixel 7 series last May, it is now focusing on the launch of the next generation Google Pixel 8 series. The lineup, which includes standard and Pro models, is still months away from launch, but multiple reports have already started surfacing about it. Let’s take a look at the information that has surfaced about the Google Pixel 8 series so far.

Google Pixel 8 Series Probable Launch Date

The launch date of Google Pixel 8 is not yet known for sure, but following the company’s trend, it is not difficult to guess. Almost all previous flagship Pixel smartphones have been launched in the month of October, so it is very likely that the Google Pixel 8 and Google Pixel 8 Pro will also hit the market in October this year. The exact date cannot be predicted right now, but they are expected to hit the market in the first half of October.

Google Pixel 8 Series Price

The price of Google Pixel 7 series has not increased compared to its predecessor. Following the same trend, some leaks have revealed that the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro will also retain the same price point. That means the starting price of Pixel 8 will be $599 (roughly Rs. 59,999) and the price of Pixel 8 Pro may start from $899 (roughly Rs. 84,999). However, it won’t be surprising if Google decides to raise prices this year.

Google Pixel 8 Series Specifications, Features

Sources claim that the Pixel 8 series will not differ much from its predecessor in terms of design. Because Google launched a new design just two years ago, in 2021. But there may be some minor changes. According to reports, the smartphones may have more rounded edges and a new sensor may be positioned below the flash of the Pro model. The standard Pixel 8 is likely to be a bit smaller in size. While the non-Pro model may be 6.16-inches instead of 6.32-inches, Ross Young, CEO of Display Supply Chain Consultancy, said the Pixel 8 Pro is expected to stay the same at 6.7-inches.

It’s also been reported that the Google Pixel 8 series will be powered by the company’s new Tensor G3 chipset, which focuses more on gaming and AI (Al). Although the exact specifications of this chipset or what kind of features it will offer for the phone, is not yet known. Not much is known about the camera specifications of the Google Pixel 8 series, but the Pixel 8 Pro is said to come with a quad-lens camera setup, meaning it will have one more sensor than its predecessor. Rumor has it, the new lens could be a macro or depth sensor.

But remember, the mentioned information is based on speculation and none of it has been confirmed by the company yet. So, only time will tell how true they are. More about the Pixel 8 series will have to wait for the official launch.
