CMF, a sub-brand of London-based technology company Nothing, launches a range of electronics gadgets targeting the affordable segment. So far, it has launched audio devices, a smartwatch and a charger. Last month, a CMF branded smartphone with model number A015 appeared on the Bureau of India Standards (BIS) platform. And now, a new report has shared some important information about the Nothing sub-brand's first smartphone, the CMF Phone (1). It is believed to be a toned-down version of the Nothing Phone (2a). The CMF Phone (1) model is said to have a plastic body and Gorilla Glass protection on the front. It is expected to enter the market as an entry-level smartphone. The device may be available in Orange, White and Black color options. This phone will have a 6.5 inch screen.
Nothing is known about the camera setup of the CMF Phone (1) model yet, but it is rumored to feature a single sensor paired with an LED flash unit. The smartphone is expected to run on a 5G-compatible MediaTek Dimension processor. For power backup, the CMF Phone (1) will likely come with a powerful 5,000 battery unit, which will support 33W fast charging.
Also, reports state that the CMF Phone (1) will run on the pre-installed Nothing OS custom skin, though some of its features may be omitted. The CMF-branded phone is likely to follow the same software update policy as the latest Nothing Phone (2a) model, meaning it will also receive three years of OS updates and four years of security patches. As for the price, the CMF Phone (1) handset is expected to be priced around Rs 12,000, which is half the price of the Nothing Phone (2a) which was launched at a starting price of Rs 23,999.
