Samsung is currently gearing up for the much awaited launch of its Galaxy S24 series of smartphones. The lineup is likely to hit the market early next year, following the tradition of its predecessor. While the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S24 series is still a few months away, information about the devices has started leaking online. This time, some important information about the specifications and design of the Galaxy S24+ and Galaxy S24 Ultra has been revealed.
Battery Specifications:
Tipster Ice Universe tweeted about the battery capacity of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S24 Plus and S24 Ultra models. In the Plus model, the battery will be upgraded compared to the previous generation model. According to the TUV certification database, the Galaxy S24 Plus will come with a 4,755 mAh (typical value 4,900 mAh) battery compared to the 4,700 mAh capacity of the predecessor Galaxy S23 Plus.
On the other hand, the Galaxy S24 Ultra will retain the same 4,855 mAh capacity as its predecessor (typical capacity is 5,000 mAh). It is also rumored that the S24 series can support faster 65W charging through the use of electric vehicle battery technology.
Processor and performance
Samsung Galaxy S24+ has appeared on the Geekbench 6 benchmarking platform. It scored 2,233 points in the single-core test and 6,661 points in the multi-core. The benchmark listing confirms that the S24+ will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor with 8GB of RAM.
However, the entire Galaxy S24 series might not use just one processor, as tipster Ice Universe has reported the inclusion of the Samsung Exynos 2400 processor in the lineup. This chipset from Samsung is expected to have ten CPU cores and its GPU benchmark score will surpass Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. It remains to be seen how the actual performance of this processor will be. Models powered by this chipset are expected to arrive in some countries in Europe and Asia.
Design:
According to tipster Ice Universe, the Galaxy S24 and S24+ models will have LTPO screens with narrow bezels. The Galaxy S24 Ultra is likely to retain the design language of its predecessor, the S23 Ultra, with a titanium frame.
Display and Camera:
The display size of the Samsung Galaxy S24+ is expected to increase slightly from the previous model’s 6.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display to 6.65 inches. The Galaxy S24 Ultra will likely offer the same quad-camera setup as its predecessor. It may not include variable zoom capabilities. And the selfie camera is less likely to be upgraded.
With this upgrade in battery capacity, processing power and design, the Samsung Galaxy S24 series is set to become an interesting addition to the smartphone market. More information is expected to emerge before the lineup is officially unveiled.
