Big surprise in the iPhone 16 series, this change is going to come thanks to the latest technology

Apple is going to launch the iPhone 16 series in the second half of this year. But even though the debut is still months away, the speculation has not stopped. Multiple information about the iPhone 16 lineup has already surfaced. It is heard that the design will see significant changes. And now some important information about the bezels of the new iPhones has come out through sources. It is said that the iPhone 16 series will use Border Reduction Structure or BRS. This technology is specifically aimed at reducing the bottom bezel or chin in all four models of the upcoming iPhone series.

iPhone 16 Pro models may come with slightly larger displays

Cisa Journal has revealed that Samsung Display, BOE and LG Display – all three companies that supply the iPhone 16 series display panel – have acquired the Border Reduction Structure or BRS technology. Apart from slimmer bezels, the regular iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus models are rumored to offer the same size and panels as last year’s non-Pro models.

Notably, the latest iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus have 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch 60Hz LTPS (Low Temperature Polycrystalline Silicon) panels respectively. However, the display size may increase slightly for iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max. According to research firm Omdia, the iPhone 16 Pro could have a 6.3-inch display, while last year’s model had a 6.1-inch screen. And the iPhone 16 Pro Max may come with a 6.9-inch display instead of a 6.7-inch panel like its predecessor, the iPhone 15 Pro Max.

In terms of display technology, these larger panels will offer the same LTPO (Low Temperature Poly Crystalline Oxide) technology, which was also found in last year’s Pro models. In addition, Kang Min-soo, a senior researcher at Omdia, said that Apple is trying to further change the form of the display by placing the front camera or Face ID under the display of their future generation iPhones. But Apple’s under-display camera technology will be delayed. According to him, it will not hit the market before 2027.
