OnePlus is going to launch some new Nord-series smartphones in the market this year. These include the OnePlus Nord 5, OnePlus Nord CE 5, and OnePlus Nord CE 5 Lite. Among the phones, the specifications of the Nord 5 model have now been leaked online. Also, the same source also revealed the names of the chipsets used in the Nord CE 5 and CE 5 Lite models.
Specifications of OnePlus Nord 5, OnePlus Nord CE 5 and OnePlus Nord CE 5 Lite
Tipster Sanju Chowdhury claimed in his X post that OnePlus has decided to skip the Nord 4, Nord CE 4 and Nord CE 4 Lite as successors to the Nord 3 lineup. That is, the successors of the Nord 3 series will be launched as OnePlus Nord 5, Nord CE 5 and Nord CE 5 Lite. There have been multiple instances before, where the Chinese brand has dropped the number “4” from their smartphone lineup, so it’s no surprise. Incidentally, the number ‘four’ is considered inauspicious in Chinese culture, so the company took this decision to appeal to consumers there.
Also, the tipster has reported that the OnePlus Nord 5 will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor. It may have an AMOLED display, with a size of 6.7 inches or more. This screen can offer a 120 Hz refresh rate. Besides, the rear panel of the Nord 5 may house a 50-megapixel primary camera, which will support optical image stabilization (OIS). On the other hand, the OnePlus Nord CE5 model is said to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7S Gen 2 chipset.
Besides, the tipster also mentioned that the Chinese tech company will launch OnePlus Nord CE 5 Lite phone with Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 processor. A render was recently leaked, which revealed the design of an upcoming OnePlus Nord model. Another report claims that the Oppo K12 phone that will be launched in the Chinese market will come to the global market as the OnePlus Nord CE 4 (or CE 5). But keep in mind that this information is just speculation at the moment. So time will tell how true they are.
