A first for a Realme phone, the Realme GT 5 Pro comes with a 64-megapixel periscope telephoto camera

Realme is currently working on their upcoming smartphone series Realme GT 5. This month itself, the company may launch the regular model of the series i.e. Realme GT 5 in its home market. Although the top-end handset of this lineup i.e. Realme GT 5 Pro is likely to make its debut by the end of 2023. But even though the launch time is far away, various features of the higher-end device are being leaked. Recently popular tipster Digital Chat Station has brought the camera specifications of the upcoming Realme GT 5 Pro.

Realme GT 5 Pro smartphone camera leaked

An earlier report claimed that the Realme GT5 Pro would be the company’s first smartphone to come with a Periscope zoom camera. And today a latest Weibo post by the tipster digital chat station supports this claim. According to his post, the device will come with a 64-megapixel OmniVision OV64B periscope telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. The phone’s rear camera setup may also feature an ultra-wide lens. Although its resolution is yet to be known.

However, detailed information about the primary camera of the Realme GT 5 Pro smartphone has come to the fore. Reportedly – ​​it will be a Sony IMX9 series sensor with ‘Optical Image Stabilization’ or OIS technology, which will be 1/1.4-inch in size. Notably, the upcoming OnePlus 12 smartphone is also expected to launch with this same primary sensor and periscope zoom camera. However, Realme’s phone may lack the ‘Hasselblad’ brand of optimization, which will likely be available on OnePlus handsets.

Also, according to a previous report, the Realme GT 5 Pro smartphone may be powered by Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 flagship processor. Apart from this, nothing else is known about the rest of the specifications of the device.

Meanwhile, the complete feature list of the regular model of the series i.e. Realme GT 5 has already been leaked online. The device may launch with a total of two battery and charging variants, namely – 4,600mAh battery + 240W charging capacity and 5,200mAh battery + 150W charging capacity. In addition, it will have a 6.74-inch OLED display panel with 1.5K resolution and 144Hz refresh rate, Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, up to 24GB of LPDDR5x RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage. Again in the camera department – ​​50 megapixel Sony IMX890 primary sensor with OIS support + 8 megapixel ultra-wide angle lens + 2 megapixel macro shooter logic triple rear camera unit and 16 megapixel selfie camera can be offered.
