With the launch of the world’s first CNG motorcycle, Bajaj Auto is now extremely busy. The company recently filed trademarks for four new names in India. Presumably, any one of these will be used in the upcoming CNG bike. Many believe that the rest of the names may be used by Bajaj with other models in the future. These four names are – Glider, Marathon, Trekker and Freedom. It is known that Bajaj has filed trademarks for four names this year from January 29 to February 9.
What will be the name of Bajaj’s upcoming CNG motorcycle?
Although the name that will be used for Bajaj’s upcoming CNG motorbike is not known for sure yet. Speculations are rife that Bajaj will introduce an adventure motorcycle named Trekker in the future. Again, the company is currently working on a 250 cc engine. It will be used in the rival model of Suzuki V-Strom SX.
On the other hand, reports claim that the Marathon name will be used with a three-wheeler commercial vehicle. Glider and Freedom – either of these two companies could name the first CNG motorcycle. More details about the model are expected to emerge over time.
According to sources, Rajiv Bajaj has confirmed that the CNG motorcycle will be launched in the next quarter i.e. between April and June. Incidentally, India is the largest two wheeler market in the world. 40 percent of the world’s two-wheelers are sold in this country. Therefore, experts believe that the launch of the world’s first CNG motorcycle is the beginning of a new era.
Maintenance cost of Bajaj CNG motorcycle will be much less. Even fuel consumption is claimed to be 55-65% lower than a petrol powered model. CNG is more environment friendly than petrol. Because its combustion produces 50 percent less carbon dioxide and 75 percent less carbon monoxide. CNG engines emit 90 percent less non-methane hydrocarbons. As this fuel costs less, it also offers higher mileage than fossil fuels.
