Fossil Gen 5E smartwatch announced with Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 3100 SoC


Fossil Gen 5E smartwatch has been announced with Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 3100 SoC. It is the slightly lower toned version of the Fossil Gen 5 which was debuted back in 2019. The Fossil Gen 5E runs on Wear OS by Google and comes in two style Men and Women with multiple color options – Black Silicone, Brown Leather, Black Stainless Steel, Two-Tone Stainless Steel, Rose Gold-Tone Stainless Steel Mesh, Rose Gold-Tone Stainless Steel, and Blush Silicone.


Fossil Gen 5E smartwatch specifications



Fossil Gen 5E features a 1.19-inch AMOLED display with a 390×390 pixel resolution and 328ppi pixel density. Under the hood, the smartwatch is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 3100 processor, paired with 1GB of RAM and 4GB of storage. It also supports Always-on display and thousands of watch faces. The company claims that it can last up to more than 24 hours in Extended Mode and can be charged to 80 percent in just 50 minutes. It has smart features such as User can access their smartphone notification and control smart home devices directly from the smartwatch.


For connectivity, The smartwatch has the support of Bluetooth 4.2 LE, NFC, GPS, LTE, and Wi-Fi. In terms of Sensors, It includes the support of an accelerometer, gyroscope, off-body IR, and PPG heart rate sensor.


Gen 5E Smartwatch Black Silicone has 5ATM water resistance while Brown Leather and Black Stainless Steel comes with 3ATM water resistance. All the remaining four options designed for women come with 5ATM water resistance.


Fossil Gen 5E variants



Fossil Gen 5E comes in two sizes – The Gen 5E Smartwatch Black Silicone, Brown Leather, and Black Stainless Steel are offered in 44mm size whereas the remaining four options arrive in 42mm size.


All the Fossil Gen 5E models come with the same price tag of $249 (around Rs. 18,200). The smartwatch models are currently up for pre-order and shipping in the US will start from November 3. However, The company has not made any official statement on international availability and pricing for the Gen 5E models.
