Find out which is the best between Tata Tiago EV and MG Comet EV, the only electric car for the middle class

The Comet EV is currently the cheapest model in the electric car market in India. Recently, MG Motor India has reduced the price of this entry-level car by almost Rs. As a result, it reaches more and more people. Now prices start from Tk 6.99 lakh (ex-showroom). As a result, the Comet EV is currently Tk 1.71 lakh cheaper than the Tata Tiago EV. MG Comet EV Vs Tata Tiago EV : Interior and Features

The interiors of the MG Comet EV are much more premium than the Tata Tiago EV. The cabin of the Tiago EV is very basic. Notable features on the Tiago include Harman’s 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, auto climate control, a rearview camera with parking sensors, steering mounted controls, cruise control, multiple drive modes, power boot opening, 45 connected features. etc. Most of these are available in top-end variants.

On the other hand, the MG Comet EV’s feature list includes a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, keyless entry, two-spoke steering wheel with mounted controls, over 55 connected cars. Features, push pedal start, digital key etc.

MG Comet EV Vs Tata Tiago EV : Powertrain Specifications

Comet EV and Tiago EV, both models have single motor, front wheel drive. Tata offers two battery options in this vehicle – 19.2 kWh and 24 kWh. The range of the two models is claimed by the company to be 250 km and 314 km respectively. The motor of the former produces 60 bhp of power and 104 Nm of torque, while the latter outputs 74 bhp and 114 Nm.

MG offers a single battery option on the Comet EV. Its 17.3 kWh battery offers a range of 230 km on a full charge. The output of the electric motor present in it is 41 BHP and 110 Nm. That means Comet EV’s range and output are both low.

Comet EV takes 7 hours to fully charge. Whereas the Tiago EV battery takes 8.7 hours to fully charge. However, the MG model does not support DC fast charging.

MG Comet EV Vs Tata Tiago EV : Price

The price cut has made the MG Comet EV even cheaper. Currently, it will cost Rs 6.98 lakh to 8.58 lakh (ex-showroom). On the other hand, Tata Tiago EV is priced between Tk 8.69 lakh to Tk 11.99 lakh (ex-showroom). So if the budget is low then it is advisable to buy Comet EV.
