One after the other announcements, long waits, speculations, customer dissatisfaction – BSNL or Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited has finally rolled out the beta stage of 4G network. Yes, the state-owned telecom company has so far started trialling 4G network sites in a bid to fight back. In the first phase, the trial will be implemented in Amritsar, Ferozepur and Pathankot in Punjab. And as part of this special launch, BSNL is also reportedly going to offer prepaid SIMs to get feedback from its customers about the network quality.
Live BSNL 4G trial across 200 sites
Currently, the fifth generation mobile network i.e. 5G is available in almost all parts of the country. In this situation BSNL Company has successfully completed proof of concept (POC) trial of 4G stack equipment across 200 live 4G network sites in Ferozepur, Pathankot and Amritsar cities in Punjab. As a result, the beta version of 4G service was launched in all those places yesterday i.e. 15th July in the presence of CMD PK Purwar of BSNL. Incidentally, the company plans to launch its 4G services in remote rural areas and areas where mobile signal is unavailable. Along with this, they are expecting a 20% increase in revenue from this new network service
BSNL 4G & Center Announcement
Union IT and Communications Minister Ashwini Vaishnab made a big announcement about BSNL 4G last May. At that time the minister said that BSNL’s 4G network will be upgraded to 5G between November-December. Vaishnav also confirmed that 4G-5G telecom stack has already been created in India for this.
Big deals with TCS
BSNL has already placed an advance order of Rs 19,000 crore with TCS or Tata Consultancy Services for setting up 4G network at over 1.23 lakh sites. In this regard, it will look after the installation and maintenance work for BSNL’s 4G network at around 1 lakh sites across the country.
