After BSNL, this time MTNL customers are also going to get superfast internet connection soon. Right now BSNL has upgraded their mobile towers. And state-owned telecom company MTNL, based in Delhi and Mumbai, is also set to offer 4G services soon.
Soon after that they will launch 5G services. For this reason the Department of Telecommunication i.e. C-DoT and MTNL have also started the examination. Recently the Department of Telecommunication has brought the issue to light by sharing a screenshot of MTNL's 5G service testing from their official social media handle. The company also said in its post that these 5G services will be offered using fully made-in-India equipment.
A few days ago C-DoT tested BSNL's 5G service at their campus. And at that time Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia made a video call through BSNL's 5G network. He also tagged BSNL in an X post stating that BSNL is testing its 5G network.
Let us inform you that Central Government has allocated 700 MHz, 2200 MHz, 3300 MHz spectrum bands for BSNL to start 5G services. However, currently only 5G service trials have started in the 700 MHz spectrum band.
In this context, BSNL has already planned to install 100,000 mobile towers for 4G services across the country. And 75,000 towers are expected to be installed by the end of this month.
