BMW CE 02: No bike, no scooter, so what? Everyone’s eyes widen at the sight of a fat wheeled car

BMW Motorrad is a renowned name in the world of premium two-wheelers. Seeing the increasing inclination of various automobile companies towards electric vehicles all over the world, this time the German company has also stepped up in this regard. Recently BMW launched their new electric two-wheeler. Named BMW CE 02. The model suitable for movement in cities and towns is neither a motorcycle nor a scooter. The company claims it is a two-wheeler electric vehicle in the e-Parkora genre.

BMW CE 02 : Specifications, Range & Battery

The BMW CE 02 is offered with thicker wheels to maintain more stability on highways and motorways. Its frame, wheels, front fender and fairing are rendered in black. But for those who are not satisfied with that, there is the highline version of CE 02. Available in gold anodized fork and tape designs.

The BMW CE 02 comes with two standard riding modes – Flow and Surf. The first is a mode suitable for driving on congested city roads. Whereas the second one is ready to give the best riding experience. Again the Highline version has an additional “Flash” mode.

This BMW two-wheeler is available in two variants. The standard model has a maximum output of 15 bhp (11 kW). It is intended for users 16 years of age or older. The maximum speed is 95 km per hour. And the low-speed version has an output of 5 bhp (4 kW). With a top speed of 45 kmph, the model is suitable for riders under 15 years of age.

BMW offers a 0.9 kW external charger in this CE 02. As a result, it can be charged at home. Again, the 11 kW version has a 1.5 kW quick charger as an optional feature. The 11 kW and 4 kW versions weigh 132 kg and 119 kg respectively. Seat height from the ground for both models is 750 mm. The company claims that the first will provide a range of 90 km on a full charge.

The electric vehicle features double loop tube frame, telescopic fork, single sided swingarm, and cast light alloy wheels. The company’s electric two-wheeler comes with disc brakes along with ABS. It also has a USB charging socket, a DFT display. Highline models have cradle mode. It offers more security thanks to the handlebar key pad controls. Again, various information can be known by connecting through the mobile app. The price of the car in Indian currency is around Rs 6.3 lakh. As a result, this type of electric two-wheeler is unlikely to be launched in India.
