The five-door version of the off-roader SUV Maruti Suzuki Jimny was launched in the Indian market yesterday. This is Maruti Suzuki’s fourth SUV model in the country. But they don’t want to stop here. This time the company is preparing to launch a new multipurpose vehicle or MPV with three rows of seats. Which will be based on the new Toyota Innova Hycross MPV. Built on the TNGA-C platform, the car has front wheel drive. The car is named Maruti Engage MPV.
The Maruti Engage MPV will be launched in July
If all goes well, the Maruti Engage MPV will be launched in the Indian market in July. Needless to say, this car is the rebadged version of the Toyota Innova Hycross MPV. Although there will be some changes in the design of the Engage. The car is likely to get a black finish grille at the front similar to the Grand Vitara. Apart from this, there are Maruti Suzuki’s signature headlights with split setup and three-pod LED DRLs.
What are the features?
Like the Innova Hycross, the upcoming Maruti Engage will measure 4755mm, 1845mm, 1795mm and 2850mm in length, width, height and wheelbase respectively. Apart from the exterior styling, the car will also see similarities in the interior layout of its rebadged version. However, the car will appear with Suzuki badging if there is a new color scheme and steering.
Maruti Engage is the company’s first car to come with Advanced Driver Assistance System. Other safety features include six airbags, traction control, ABS with EBD, electronic stability program, 360-degree camera, adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, lane keep assist, lane departure alert, rear cross traffic and high beam assist.
The car will be offered with two engine options – a 2.0 liter induction cycle producing 184 bhp and a 2.0 liter CVT motor mated to an automatic gearbox producing 172 bhp.
