Bajaj Auto and Triumph Motorcycle tied the knot in 2017 to launch a two-wheeler. Exactly six years later, the company’s first motorcycle is about to hit the market. The launch date has been fixed on July 5. It will be sold in India with Triumph branding. Bajaj will be in charge of sales and production. It will be the cheapest model of the iconic fragile brand Triumph.
Bajaj-Triumph will launch the bike on July 5
Speculations are rife that Triumph is going to bring two motorcycles in the country. One of which is the Roadster and the other is the Scrambler. So whether Bajaj-Triumph will launch one or a pair of motorbikes together on July 5 is not yet clear. A glimpse of the bike has been seen in the teaser image. Needless to say, it will come in the market as a competitor of Royal Enfield.
Bajaj-Triumph’s first motorcycle is expected to come with a single cylinder, liquid cooled engine of 350 to 400 cc capacity. It may have USD front forks, a rear monoshock, disc brakes (both wheels) with dual channel ABS. Other special features include ride-by-wire, different riding modes, slipper clutch, and adjustable levers, etc. Earlier leaked images showed the bike’s upright posture and center set footpegs.
Incidentally, the Bajaj-Triumph partnership may bring different motorcycles from 200 to 700 cc in the market. Because Bajaj has a long experience of making bikes for KTM in the middle weight two-wheeler segment. Meanwhile, Bajaj has taken over the management of Triumph dealerships in India since last April. It will start with 15 showrooms at present, and will work to increase the number of dealerships to 120 cities within two years.
