Royal Enfield has released the motorcycle sales figures for the month of July with a smile. Statistics show that the company sold a total of 73,117 units of motorcycles last month. Whereas July 2022 sales were 55,555, a 32% jump in sales this year. Despite the launch of its two rivals Harley-Davidson X440 and Triumph Speed ​​400 in the 350-450cc segment last month, the manufacturer’s sales of the Classic 350 have grown significantly.

Royal Enfield sales up 32%

In July 2023, Royal Enfield saw 66,062 customers in India alone. It was 46,529 units a year ago at that time. As a result, the sales growth rate is 42%. However, last year in July, the export of 9,026 units decreased to 7,055 units. As a result, there has been a decline of 22 percent in the supply of bikes abroad. However, the company’s sales volume in June this year was 77,109. Compared to July, sales shrank by 5.18%.

Commenting on the strong sales performance, Royal Enfield CEO B Govindarajan said, “July was a special month for us. Because that month we crossed the milestone of 200,000 sales of Hunter 350.” He added, after performing well in the first quarter this year, the company managed to maintain that trend in the second quarter as well. Currently, the company is preparing for several important launches, he said.

Royal Enfield’s two best-selling motorcycles in the 350cc segment are the Hunter 350 and the Classic 350. They sold a total of 64,398 units of the 350 cc model. It was 46,336 units a year ago. However, the 650 cc saw a decline of 5% this year as sales fell to 8,719 units from 9,219 units in the same period last year.

In the first quarter of FY 2023-24 i.e. from April to July, Royal Enfield managed to hand over the keys of a total of 3,00,823 new motorcycles to customers. Last year at the same time, the sales volume was 242,760 units, this year there has been an increase of 24%. Again during the same period the export decreased from 38,589 to 27,590 units, the rate of decline is 29 percent.

Incidentally, Royal Enfield is currently preparing for multiple motorcycle launches. Like – new generation Bullet 350, Classic Bobber 350, Classic 650, Himalayan 450 etc. The company is also working on an electric motorcycle, which could hit the market by 2025.
