This time the Englishmen will drive the Made-in-India sports bike. Courtesy Italian premium two-wheeler brand Aprilia. Last year the company launched their cheapest racing bike, the Aprilia RS 457 in India. It has become quite popular in the country market. Seeing the good demand, they launched RS 457 made in India in England. There the price in Indian currency is around Rs 6.80 lakh. And the full-faired sports bike costs Rs 4.10 lakh (ex-showroom) in this country.
Aprilia RS 457: Engine Specifications & Features
Powering the Aprilia RS 457 is a 457 cc parallel twin, liquid-cooled engine that churns out a maximum power of 47.6 PS at 9400 rpm and 43.5 Nm of torque at 6700 rpm. The six-speed gearbox comes with a slipper clutch and optional bi-directional quick shifter.
The bike uses inverted forks at the front and preload adjustable monoshock absorbers at the rear to handle the suspension duties. There are 17-inch alloy wheels on both sides. As a braking system, one disc brake is available at both the front and rear wheels. Dual channel ABS is also standard.
Aprilia RS 457: Other Features
The Aprilia RS 457 features LED lights everywhere. A 5-inch TFT display serves as the instrument cluster. Navigation system with Bluetooth connectivity, ABS, anti roll system, traction control and three riding modes are available. The Indian and International models of the bike are available in a total of three color schemes. The Aprilia RS 457 bike is currently being manufactured at Piaggio’s factory in Maharashtra.
