The company said that the App Store has been in its beta testing phase with select users in the country for some time. It is basically designed to support small developers and businesses in India to set up low-cost and easy-to-build apps using HTML and Javascript. Paytm also confirmed that listings of the apps will also be free in its Mini App store.

Why It is different from other Apps store?

According to a Gadget360 report, The company is hosting links to progressive Web apps (PWAs) which are light apps. It means these apps can also run within a Web browser without requiring any installation. Due to which, users can directly access the Apps services from the Paytm App. Paytm also claimed that the Paytm Mini App Store has seen over 12 million visits in September.

As mentioned, It has already been populated by over 300 Apps including Decathlon, Domino’s Pizza, FreshMenu, Netmeds, NoBroker, Ola, and more. Moreover, It also includes some of a handful of apps such as AQI Monitor, EMI Calculator, MojoPizza, Horoscope, Speedtest, and Unit Converter.

Tools for Developer

For developers, The company has also provided a dashboard in which developers can easily check app analytics and payments collection. Paytm will also provide developers with free payment options including Paytm Wallet, Paytm Payments Bank, and UPI. Though, it should be noticed that a two percent extra charge is levied for payments using credit cards.

Late last month, The Tech giant announced that it would enforce its 30 percent fee for those apps that are on Google Play but are not using its billing system. Due to this, Indian app developers and entrepreneurs demand a national app store alternative to Google Play. However, The company has pushed back its decision in India until March 31, 2022.
