Google bans Mitron App from the play store due to violating Google’s spam and minimum functionality policy. Mitron app which is not a replica of TikTok but in reality replica of tictic app which is developed by Pakistani company Qboxus.
Mitron app got the attention of Indian users after the controversy of Youtube vs Tiktok. This app crosses over 5 Million Downloads on Playstore with 4.8 ratings in less than 2 months from its released date. Mitron app becomes popular in Indian Playstore because many rumors said that it is an Indian App and this app comes under Make in India Campaign.
Many reports said that in reality Mitron app is not a replica of TikTok but it is a replica of tictic app which is developed by Pakistani company Qboxus and an Indian student from an IIT Roorkee named Shivank Agarwal purchased the code of tictic app for $34 (~Rs.2,600) and published this app as Mitron app in India.
Yesterday Google bans Mitron App from the play store because of violating the app policy of Google. According to Google’s spam and minimum functionality policy “We don’t allow apps that merely provide the same experience as other apps already on Google Play. Apps should provide value to users through the creation of unique content or services. The app should provide a basic degree of functionality and respectful user experience.”
Qboxus Ceo Irfan Sheikh told News18, “There is no issue with what the developer has done According to Irfan He paid for the script and used it, which is right. But, the problem is with people referring to it as an Indian-made app, which is not true especially because they have not made any changes.
Mitron app faces some security issues as well because there is no privacy policy for the app and there is a lot of bugs in-app which makes it laggy. The overall security of this app is not good too, So many app developers don’t recommend to use this app. What is your opinion is it right move by Google or not let me know in Comment Section
