All the customers are running away! BSNL employees request govt to lend Vi’s 4G network

While various private telecom operators are offering 5G services to customers, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited i.e. BSNL is yet to offer 4G services. However, the company has been announcing the launch of 4G for a long time. And this is why BSNL’s subscriber base is decreasing.

In this situation BSNL workers have made an unusual demand to the Government of India. The company’s employees have requested the government to use Vodafone Idea’s 4G network to offer 4G to customers. They requested the government to take this temporary measure to stop the porting of customers from BSNL network to other networks.

Incidentally, according to TRAI i.e. Telecom Regulatory Authority of India data, BSNL lost 22,20,654 customers in August 2023, and 23,26,751 customers in September 2023.

In a letter to Telecom Minister Ashwini Vaishnab, BSNL Chairman and Managing Director PK Purwar said that BSNL may launch 4G network in December 2024. Note that BSNL has not yet completed the field trial of the technology provided by TCS.

As the Government of India is Vodafone Idea’s largest stakeholder, BSNL workers have requested the government to use Vodafone Idea’s 4G network to offer 4G to customers.

However, this proposition is baseless. However, this situation proves the plight of employees of state-run telecom operators. Since Vodafone Idea is a public company, it is believed that the company’s shareholders or board will never agree to this decision.
