Airtel, the second largest telecom company, launched the new Internet Protocol Television Service (IPTV) in the country. This service has been launched in certain telecom circles. The facility can be found through Airtel Black initiative. It brings Airtel Premium Postpaid, Mobile, Digital TV and Fiber services under one umbrella.

Customers will be able to combine two or more services under Airtel Black on a plan. It has been reported that with the launch of the IPTV service associated with the Airtel Black Plan, customers will be able to enjoy high quality digital content through the concerned platform.

IPTV is a digital television broadcasting technology, which offers TV content via the Internet instead of only satellite or over-the-air signals. Company using a personal and specific network to provide TV content using the Internet Protocol (IP).

It is reported that Airtel has started the IPTV service test in the selected circle or has been soft-launched. Airtel Black IPTV Entertainment Plan is currently available in selected markets like Chandigarh, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana and other specific regions.
