Airtel 5G announced, On Thursday, the telecom firm declared that it has become the country’s first telecom operator which successfully demonstrate and organize live 5G service. The company claims that its 5G network will be capable of providing 10x speeds, 10x latency and 100x concurrency as compared to the previous technologies.
Airtel 5G uses existing liberalized spectrum
Airtel becomes the first telecom network of India that successfully demonstrate and organize live 5G service over a commercial network in Hyderabad city. The company has used NSA (non-standalone) network technology over its existing liberalized spectrum in the 1800 MHz band to successfully operate the 5G connectivity. Further, The telecom company also noted that it utilized a “first of its kind, dynamic spectrum sharing to operate 5G and 4G concurrently within the same spectrum block.” Additionally, This demonstration has strongly validated the 5G readiness of Airtel’s network across all domains – Radio, Core and Transport.
Through Airtel 5G network, Hyderabad Users were able to download a full-length movie in just a couple of seconds on a 5G smartphone. Airtel users will be able to enjoy the full speed of 5G across all over India after the adequate spectrum is available and government approvals received.
