Skoda Auto Volkswagen India has produced 1.5 lakh vehicles in India. Their manufacturing journey began in 2009 with the production of the Skoda Fabia model in Pune. Both Skoda and Volkswagen are known for making durable and powerful cars.
Skoda Auto Volkswagen Auto Private Limited has touched a new milestone in India. The company has announced the production of 15 lakh cars in this country. They have a world class vehicle and engine manufacturing facility at Chakan, Pune. In 2009, the first Skoda Fabia was produced from that factory.

As time passed, more and more new cars began to be produced at this Skoda factory. These include VW Vento and Polo, Skoda Fabia and Rapid along with the new generation VW Taigun and Virtus based on the MQB-AO-IN platform, Skoda Kushaq and Slavia.
Commenting on the new milestone, Piyush Arora, Managing Director & CEO, Skoda Auto Volkswagen India Pvt Ltd said, “1.5 million cars produced from the Chakan plant in Pune, four successful models on the MQB-AO-IN platform, and 10 years of engine manufacturing is a milestone for the Indian automotive industry. Attests to our dedication to each other.”
Incidentally, Skoda Auto in India recently celebrated production of three lakh units of the Volkswagen INDIA 2.0 car range. Models under it are VW Taigun and Virtus, Skoda Kushaq and Slavia. Incidentally, the factory located in Chakan has supplied more than 3.8 lakh engines for Volkswagen Group vehicles.
