iQOO launched the iQOO 12 series in November 2023 in China. But, when the company released the iQOO 13 in October last year, there was no Pro variant released alongside the base model. As a result, there were speculations that the company has stopped the inclusion of the second model in the flagship series forever. But now there is a glimmer of hope as a report says that the upcoming iQOO 14 series is going to include a Pro model.
According to a social media post by a popular Chinese tipster, Samsung is planning to launch more new smartphones with OLED panels from Vivo and Ico. The iQOO 14 and 14 Pro are expected to feature Samsung OLED panels. According to another source, both the devices will feature a flat display design.
It should be noted that this year, Samsung will provide OLED panels of various sizes to smartphone manufacturers. These include 1.5K resolution LTPO flat displays, 1.5K and 2K resolution LTPO micro-quad-curved displays and 2K LTPO micro quad curved panels.
Currently available iQOO 12 and 13 series have OLED panels made by Chinese companies. As a result, the inclusion of Samsung OLED panels in the iQOO 14 series is seen as a major upgrade. While the iQOO 14 model is missing the Periscope telephoto camera, the iQOO 14 Pro will launch with this camera. This will be the main difference between the two phones.
Also, Qualcomm is expected to unveil the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 processor next October. The iQOO 14 and 14 Pro may be equipped with this chip. But remember, all this is based on initial reports. Later the company may change the decision.
