While Huawei’s premium P70 series was supposed to hit the market this month, it is now heard that the launch event of these smartphones has been pushed back. Many buyers were eagerly waiting for the upgraded version of the Huawei P60 series. To their dismay, sources claim that the launch timeline for the Huawei P70 lineup has been pushed back. Let’s find out what are the supposed reasons behind this delay.
Huawei P70 launch delayed
Tipster Digital Chat Station claims that the Huawei P70 series will arrive later than expected, though he did not reveal the exact reasons behind it. However, local Chinese media sources said that the reason for the delay is not supply chain constraints, but rather due to elaborate product release strategies internally within Huawei. The new expected launch timeline for the Huawei P70 series is now April. Despite this change in schedule, the likely specifications of the smartphones may remain unchanged.
Huawei P70 Specifications (Expected)
The Huawei P70 series is expected to include at least three models, namely the standard Huawei P70, Huawei P70 Pro and Huawei P70 Art. The phones are expected to come with an upgraded Kirin 9000-series chipset, which will potentially offer better performance than the Kirin 9000S used in the Huawei Mate60 series.
The Huawei P70 series phones will feature a 6.58-inch or 6.8-inch 2.5D 1.5K LTPO panel on the front. One of the highlights of the series is expected to be the camera system. According to reports, the Huawei P70 series will use the OV50H or IMX989 sensor for the primary camera with physical variable aperture. In addition, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens and a 50-megapixel 4x periscope telephoto lens may be included.
Recently, some images of the back cover of the Huawei P70 phone surfaced, which showed that its camera module has a somewhat symmetrical triangular design. It is also rumored that the flagship P70 lineup may support satellite communication technology. As mentioned earlier, this upcoming series from Huawei was supposed to be launched by the end of March, which is now uncertain. Also, the pricing of the phones is not known as of yet, but the Huawei P60 Art model was launched last year at a starting price of 8,988 Yuan (roughly Rs. 1,03,360), which gives an idea of its likely price point.
