Kawasaki is launching one bike after another in India from the beginning of the new year. Basically they are seen to bring premium models. Today the Japanese company launched their much awaited sports bike, the Ninja 500 in India along with the updated version of the Z900 naked streetfighter. It will be sold in the domestic market at an attractive price of Rs 5.24 lakh (ex-showroom).

Let it be known that Kawasaki already sells both Ninja 400 and Ninja 300 models in India. This time they are joined by Ninja 500. Interestingly, the price of Ninja 400 and Ninja 500 has been kept the same. So many people think that the sale of 400 cc Ninja may be stopped this time.
The Kawasaki Ninja 500 uses a brand new 451 cc parallel twin engine for high-performance. It will produce a maximum power of 45 bhp at 9,000 rpm and 42.6 Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm. The engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox with slip and assist clutch. The Kawasaki Ninja 500 has a sharper design, which is more sleek. The sports bike can only be optioned in Metallic Spark Black color. Special features include LCD instrument cluster and Bluetooth connectivity.
Talking about the hardware, the bike will ride on telescopic front fork and rear monoshock suspension. 17-inch wheels with 310mm front and 220mm rear disc brakes. Disc brake range is more than Ninja 400. Bookings for the Ninja 500 are underway and deliveries are expected to start from next month i.e. March. Rivals in the market are Yamaha R3 and Aprilia RS457.
