OnePlus unveiled its latest OnePlus 11 5G smartphone in January. And less than six months after its launch, speculation has started in tech circles about the successor OnePlus 12. Even, renders and key specifications of the phone have been leaked online. And now, some renders of OnePlus 12R, another new smartphone from OnePlus’ number series, have surfaced courtesy of a popular tipster. The device will be the successor to the OnePlus 11R, which debuted earlier in February this year. Let’s find out what information has come out about the upcoming smartphone.
The leak is the renders and key specifications of the OnePlus 12R
According to renders shared by tipster Steve Hemmerstoffer, the OnePlus 12R will feature a slightly less curved display than its predecessor. It will feature a centered punch-hole cutout and the screen will be surrounded by slim bezels. The OnePlus 12R will retain the same design as the previous generation model. That is, it too will have a half-peel-shaped rear island with a glossy finish, extending from the side frame. It will house the circular module with three sensors and an LED flash.
Again, the OnePlus 12R will have a power button and alert slider on the right edge, while the volume rockers will be on the left. A USB-C port, a microphone cutout and a speaker grill can be seen at the bottom edge. The device is seen in the white color option in the renders.
In terms of specifications, the report adds that the OnePlus 12R will be powered by a Qualcomm 8 Gen 2 processor, coupled with 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. For power backup, it will use a 5,500 mAh battery, which has a capacity of 500 mAh more than its predecessor. It will support 100W fast charging.
Besides, the OnePlus 12R is said to sport a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution and 120Hz refresh rate on the front. The smartphone may get a significant camera upgrade with a triple camera setup comprising a 50-megapixel primary sensor, a 32-megapixel telephoto unit and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens. OnePlus 12R 5G will be launched in China in January next year. It can then come to India.
