Next month i.e. in July, Maruti Suzuki is launching the MPV or Multipurpose Vehicle in India. July 5 has been fixed as the launch date. And the car is named Invicto. The car is the rebadged version of the Toyota Innova Hycross and is the new flagship model of the Indo-Japanese company. Although the launch is next month, Maruti has announced that bookings will start from June 19.
Bookings for Maruti Suzuki Invicto are about to begin
Being the rebranded version of the Toyota Innova Hycross, the Maruti Suzuki Invicto has minor design changes, but the similarities are noticeable to a large extent. Toyota will be responsible for the production of the car. However, it is not yet confirmed how the design will change. Presumably, the front and rear might get a new bumper, Maruti badges and grille. Besides, there will be some changes in headlamp and taillamp. Again some changes can be noticed in the list of features.
Powering the Invicto is a 2.0 liter petrol engine. The car can be chosen in two configurations – hybrid and non-hybrid. The hybrid version will have an engine output of 183 bhp and will be mated to an eCVT automatic gearbox. On the other hand, 171 hp and 205 Nm of torque will be available from the non-hybrid engine.
The new MPV will be available in 7 or 8-seat options. Features include a touchscreen infotainment system, digital driver’s display, connected car technology, panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, etc. The Invicto will be positioned above the Grand Vitara in the company’s lineup. The price can be said for sure after the launch. The current price of Innova Hycross ranges from Rs 18.55 lakh to Rs 29.99 lakh (ex-showroom).
