Today, June 5th, the 50th World Environment Day is being celebrated across the world. This day is celebrated every year to remember the various eco-friendly ways to save our planet from pollution. At present, fossil fuel powered vehicles are the main cause of environmental pollution in almost all countries of the world. Many countries are already relying entirely on electric power instead of petrol-diesel engines. The number of electric vehicles (EV) is also increasing in this country. Although there is a common perception that only EVs are expensive, there are some models in the country that are affordable. MG Comet EV
(Price: Rs. 7.98 Lakh – 9.98 Lakh)

The title of India’s entry-level electric car was held by the Tata Tiago EV until recently, but recently the MG Comet EV has won the title. The ex-showroom price range of this battery-powered car is between Tk 7.98 lakh and Tk 9.98 lakh. It uses a 17.3 kWh lithium ion battery pack as energy storage. As claimed by the British manufacturer, the Comet can travel about 230 km on a single charge. It is powered by an electric motor that produces 42 bhp of power and 110 Nm of torque, located on the rear axle.

Tata Tiago EV

(Price: 8.69 Lakh – 12.04 Lakh)

Tata Motors’ cheapest electric car is the Tiago EV. It has two variants of 19.2 KWh and 24 KWh. The former uses an electric motor producing 60 bhp and the latter 74 bhp. Battery riding range is about 250 km and 310 km. The ex-showroom price of the base variant of the Tiago EV has gone from Tk 8.69 lakh to a maximum of Tk 12.04 lakh.

Citroen eC3

(Price: Tk. 11.50 lakh – 12.76 lakh)

The Citroen eC3 is the electric version of the fossil fuel powered hatchback model Citroen C3. The vehicle is powered by a 29.2 kWh Lithium Ferro Phosphate (LFP) battery pack, which provides a range of around 320 km on a full charge. The Citroen eC3 has an electric motor mounted on the front axle, producing 56 bhp and 143 Nm of power and torque respectively. Price 11.50 Lakhs – 12.76 Lakhs (Ex Showroom).

Tata Tigor EV

(Price: Tk 12.49 Lakh – Tk 13.75 Lakh)

Another one of the best electric sedans made by domestic carmaker Tata Motors is the Tigor EV. The ex-showroom price of its base version is Tk 12.49 lakh. The top version will cost Tk 13.75 lakh. It is the only electric sedan in India under the budget of Rs 20 lakh. The Tigor EV can travel 315 km on a single charge courtesy of a 26 kWh lithium-ion battery. The electric motor used in this can produce a maximum power of 74 bhp and a maximum torque of 170 Nm.

Tata Nexon EV

(Price: Tk. 14.49 lakh – 19.54 lakh)

Tata Nexon EV is the best selling model in our country’s battery powered four wheeler market. In a word, the majority of the credit for the popularity of electric cars in India so far is in its possession. Tata Nexon TV is currently available in the market in Prime and Max versions. While its Prime model has a 30.2 kWh battery pack, the Max version has a 40.5 kWh battery. The declared riding range of these two types of battery packs is 312 km and 453 km respectively.
