Here's how to hide your activity status on Instagram

Open Instagram on your device and tap on your profile picture from the bottom right.

Scroll down to the 'How others can interact with you' and tap on 'Messages and story replies'.
In the 'Who can see you're online', click on 'Show activity status'.
Now, turn off the 'Show Activity Status' toggle.
