The Japanese company has added smartphone connectivity technology to this new version of the motorcycle. The model sold in India, however, already has this feature. Apart from the feature updates, the R15 has also appeared in a new all black color option.
Along with the new paint scheme, it will be sold in Blue, Grey/Silver, and Grey/Black color options like the previous model. Yamaha R15 is currently the best selling sports bike in its segment. Great performance and lots of features made the bike very popular. Its standard version has traction control, quick shifter, slipper clutch, and dual channel ABS.
Yamaha R15's full digital instrument cluster displays a wealth of information including maintenance reminders, ride tracking, onboard diagnostics. When paired with a smartphone, call and message alerts appear on the display. The bike's 155 cc single cylinder liquid cooled engine produces 18.1 bhp of power and 14.2 Nm of torque.
The bike is mated to a six speed gearbox with variable valve actuation technology. Built on a Deltabox frame, the R15 runs on 17-inch wheels. For suspension, front USD fork and rear monoshock are present. Both wheels have single disc brakes. Weight with 11 liter fuel tank is 141 kg. Yamaha R15 price in India starts from INR 1.83 lakh (ex-showroom).
