Xiaomi launched its first electric car this year, called the SU7. It is an electric sedan and comes in three variants – SU7, SU7 Pro, and SU7 Max. Now the Chinese tech giant has unveiled the SU7 Ultra as the fourth variant. It is a prototype electric hypercar and Xiaomi's most hardcore and fastest car.
SU7 Ultra is the most lightweight and extremely powerful version of Xiaomi's electric sedan. It has two of the company's own VA8S and a V6S motor, with a capacity of 1548 horsepower. That is, it has left behind the Bugatti Chiron (1479 horsepower). About 1140 bhp of power is available from the first two motors and 386 bhp from the third motor.
Xiaomi SU7 Ultra can accelerate from 0-100 km in just 1.97 seconds. The maximum speed is 350 km per hour. It can accelerate from 0-200 and 0-300 kmph in 5.96 seconds and 15.07 seconds respectively. The company plans to launch the car in Germany's Race Truck in October. The production version will arrive next year.
Note that not only the huge power, Xiaomi has reduced the weight of this new car and increased the downforce. Xiaomi SU7 Ultra weighs 1900 kg but is capable of generating up to 2145 kg of downforce. All body panels are made of carbon fiber to reduce weight. It is over 500 kg lighter than the original model.
