Electric cars in India are gradually gaining people’s trust. As a result of which the demand in the respective segment is increasing by leaps and bounds. Almost every company doing business in this country does not want to miss this opportunity. Being the largest electric passenger car company in the country, Tata Motors will not be left behind. Therefore, the domestic company has already publicly presented the plan to launch ten electric vehicles in the next five years. Punch EV, Harrier EV and Safari EV are going to enter the market as the first models of this campaign. Also coming up later in the list – Sierra EV, Curvv EV, Altroz EV, Avinya based models etc. This report provides details about Tata’s three important electric vehicles that are about to hit the market.
Tata Punch EV
Tata may launch the electric version of the Punch during the festive season this year. The vehicle is currently undergoing testing. Taking inspiration from the Curvv concept, there can be variations inside and out. As seen in the leaked images, it features a new two-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated logo at its center. There is also a 360-degree camera, a rotary drive selector and an electronic parking brake. The car can offer a range of 300 km on a full charge. The car is likely to come with the Tiago EV powertrain.
Tata Harrier EV
The concept model of the Tata Harrier EV was showcased at the Auto Expo this year. The curtain was also lifted on the Tata Curvv and Avinya EV at the same time. The final model of the Harrier EV could hit the market next year. It will be based on the company’s Gen 2 platform. The electric SUV model is expected to be compatible with the concept version. Like the new blank-off grille, split headlamps with LED light bars, a tweaked bumper, EV badge on the fenders, flush door handles, larger wheels, new LED light bars along the rear doors. Electric Harrier can be offered with autonomous and modern technology.
Tata Safari EV
The electric version of the Tata Safari features the Harrier EV. The car will be based on OmegaArch architecture (Sigma/Gen 2 platform). The consistent change of outdoor and indoor electric models will be noticeable. It will have vehicle-to-load and vehicle-to-vehicle charging capabilities. The Tata Safari EV may come with a 60 kWh battery pack. On a full charge it will provide a range of 400 to 500 km. This car will also be launched after the Harrier EV.
