Premium car maker Volvo today unveiled its second electric car in India. Named Volvo C40 Recharge. The first EV model in the company’s lineup is the Volvo XC40 Recharge. The new car will be manufactured in the country across the board. C40 Recharge price is yet to be announced by the company. Bookings will be accepted and sales will start from August. The price will be revealed only then. Delivery will start from September.
Volvo C40 Recharge design
The Volvo C40 Recharge is the SUV-coupe version of the XC40 Recharge. In terms of design, the front end of both the cars is similar. It features sharp LED headlights and a closed upper grille with Thor’s Hammer DRLs. Three bumpers present on the front of the car.
The vehicle is based on the company’s Compact Modular Architecture or CMA. It will ride on 19-inch alloy wheels.
Volvo C40 Recharge Powertrain
The Volvo C40 Recharge has a 78 kWh battery pack. It can run for 420 km on a full charge. It is offered in single motor rear wheel drive and dual motor all wheel drive. However, the Indian model of the car is offered with the E80 battery pack. It is claimed that the range will be 530 km. It will take 4.7 seconds to accelerate from 0-100 km/h.
Volvo C40 Recharge interior
The cabin of the car offers a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, full digital instrument cluster and panoramic sunroof. The SUV coupe comes with a 13-speaker Harman Kardon music system. Special features include front seat with 360 degree camera, and dual zone climate control.
Volvo C40 Recharge Safety Features
Safety features on Volvo C40 Recharge include multiple airbags, ABS with EBD, 360 degree camera. ADAS features include adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, blind spot monitoring system and a parking assistant.
