The much awaited super sports bike is being launched in India overnight. You are right, we are talking about the Triumph Daytona 660. Although it was supposed to be launched long ago, it got delayed due to various reasons. But now to end the wait, Triumph has announced that the Daytona 660 will be launched in India on August 29, i.e. tomorrow.
The Triumph Daytona 660 is actually based on the Trident 660 roadster platform. However, it features a more powerful version of the inline-triple engine. The Daytona's engine produces 95 bhp of power at 11,250 rpm and 69 Nm of torque at 8,250 rpm. Most surprisingly, 80 percent of the torque is available from 3,125 rpm.
The Daytona 660 is designed like a supersport bike. It has very nicely designed fairing, twin LED headlights and upswept tail section. The bike has a tubular steel perimeter frame inside. It will get monoshock suspension with 41mm USD fork and pre-load adjustment.
This supersports bike from Triumph is equipped with 310 mm twin disc brakes at the front and 220 mm single disc brakes at the rear. Special features include full LED lighting, TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity, three riding modes (Rain, Road and Sport), and dual channel ABS. The Triumph Daytona 660 is expected to launch in India between Rs 9 and 9.25 lakh (ex-showroom).
