India gave a new surprise, is going to export domestic telecom gear to 70 countries
India continues to export Telecom Gear to more than 70 countries worldwide. Which are developed by Tejas Networks, HFCL and C-DoT among others. Incidentally, Reliance Jio is also building its own portfolio of RAN (Radio Access Network) and equipment needed for 5G and 4G.
Speaking at a conference organized by the Telecom Equipment and Services Export Promotion Council (TEPC), Department of Telecommunication (DoT) official Madhu Arora said, “There are several Indian companies that are designing, manufacturing and exporting telecom equipment. And telecom equipment designed and manufactured in India is now being exported to around 70 countries.”
Arora also said that Indian companies are now at par with the best manufacturers in other countries around the world. Besides, India's exports also increased by 35 percent.
Arora also said that telecom service providers (TSPs) in India have deployed around 450,000 BTS (base transceiver stations) for 5G. About 80 percent of which are made with indigenous technology. It is pertinent to note that the government is providing PLI scheme to increase the production and design of indigenous telecom equipment, thereby enabling Indian companies as well as large multinational corporations to increase their production capacity locally.
