The Tata Nexon iCNG was first showcased at the Bharat Mobility Show 2024 this year. Now various reports claim that this car will be launched in the country within the next 6 months. You will be surprised to hear that the Nexon iCNG is India's first CNG car, which will run on a turbocharged petrol engine. That is why the price of Tata Nexon iCNG is estimated to be Rs 80,000 to Rs 1 lakh more than the original model.
Tata Nexon iCNG Engine and Performance
The Tata Nexon iCNG is likely to have a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine under the hood. The output of the CNG variant is still a mystery. However, the petrol engine can produce 118 bhp of power and 170 Nm of torque. Combining CNG technology with turbocharging is a first in India. It is expected to offer better performance than the conventional conventional CNG engine.
Tata Nexon iCNG Protection
In the Tata Nexon iCNG, providing safety to the passengers and the CNG system will be a top priority. A micro switch may feature to disable the engine while refueling with CNG fuel. Also, features such as leak proof material and preventing accidents due to excessive heat can be seen. May have a sophisticated ECU, direct CNG starting, automatic fuel switching, modular fuel filter design and leak detection system.
Tata Nexon iCNG competitor
Maruti Suzuki Brezza CNG is the main rival to the upcoming Tata Nexon iCNG. This car has a 1.5 liter naturally aspirated engine with a factory fitted CNG kit. It produces a maximum power of 87 bhp and a torque of 121 Nm. The Nexon iCNG may offer around 230 liters of boot space.
