Various companies around the world are working on electric vehicles as an alternative to petrol and diesel to reduce environmental pollution. However, Suzuki is researching the use of hydrogen as fuel in its two-wheelers by walking a slightly different path. The popular Japanese automobile company has been developing a hydrogen version of the Bergman for a long time. Now the patent image of Suzuki's hydrogen gas powered scooter has been leaked.
Hydrogen version of Suzuki Bergman
Leaked patent images reveal the design of the Suzuki Bergman Hydrogen. It may be based on Bergman's 400cc model. The design of the prototype model had some restrictions on the wheelbase front. The hydrogen tank was relocated below, near the floorboard. But the new patent shows that Suzuki is going to use two smaller cylinders instead of a single unit.
According to the patent image, one cylinder sits diagonally near the front apron and the second is positioned parallel to the tail section. As a result, the design and dimensions of the Suzuki Bergman 400 can be retained, as well as the engine and transmission system can remain in their position. Suzuki has also made some other changes to the design. For example, the front radiator has been repositioned away from the first hydrogen tank.
Besides, the scooter has a deflector at the front which will channel the hot air downwards. Besides, Suzuki is also going to change the engine to work with hydrogen fuel. Hydrogen storage and fuel supply are very challenging. So Suzuki's hydrogen scooter may still take a long time to come to market.
